Claims Tips

Property Losses

If you have a property claim, you should wait until contacted by the adjuster before you move or repair anything. However, you must also be sure that no further damage can occur.

Things you can do before a loss occurs:

• it is always a good idea to have documents to prove the value of items.
• have photos, invoices, and other such things on hand.
• video tape your property including your house and other outdoor structures.

Automobile Losses

Always obtain the following information if you are in an accident with someone else.

• their name and address
• the vehicle owners name and address if different
• the make, model and year of the other vehicle
• the other owners Insurance Company & Policy no.
• if you have contacted the police make sure you have the Officer’s Name and the report or occurrence number.
